Summary
This workshop examines how immigrant communities in Los Angeles have developed
traumainformed, culturally grounded, and grassroots strategies to resist ICE raids and systemic
criminalization. Drawing from the Sanctuary Movements of the 1980s and 1990s, participants
will explore mutual aid, popular education, and community defense models that transform
collective care into an act of healing, empowerment, and resistance—advancing Mental Health
Sin Fronteras.
