This presentation explores how emotional exchanges between clinicians and clients, shaped by culture, migration, and collective trauma, can become powerful tools for connection, empathy, and advocacy. Within Latinx communities, transference and countertransference are not only psychological phenomena but reflections of familismo, respeto, spirituality, and the intergenerational narratives that define identity and

resilience. This workshop examines how these relational dynamics influence trust, belonging, and self- awareness in therapeutic spaces and offers practical strategies for transforming them into culturally grounded pathways for healing.
