This bilingual panel brings together social work and public health researchers from Puerto Rico and the U.S. mainland to explore the health, mental health, and neurocognitive needs of Puerto Rico’s rapidly aging population. Presenters will share findings from listening sessions and community partnerships that illuminate the impact of poverty, migration, and disaster recovery on older adults and caregivers, while proposing culturally responsive, trauma-informed strategies for building an equitable system of care across borders.
